Dr Edi Bilimoria is an award-winning author, engineer, and international lecturer whose work brings together science, philosophy, and the perennial wisdom traditions. Born in India and educated at the Universities of London, Sussex, and Oxford, he has spent more than half a century studying the deeper philosophical traditions that explore consciousness, mind, and the nature of reality.
Alongside this lifelong philosophical inquiry, Edi enjoyed a distinguished professional career as a consultant engineer working on major international projects, including the Channel Tunnel and the Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier. His unique perspective arises from a rare combination of scientific training, engineering practice, and profound engagement with the philosophical traditions of both East and West.
His four-volume opus Unfolding Consciousness: Exploring the Living Universe and Intelligent Powers in Nature and Humans received the Scientific and Medical Network’s Grand Prize and the 2025 People’s Book Prize for Best Achievement. His earlier work The Snake and the Rope received the Network’s Book Prize in 2007.
His forthcoming book, Consciousness Came First: Revealing Evidence for Universal Intelligence and Mind Beyond the Brain (Collective Ink, 2026), distils these insights for a wider readership.
